In Washinton

May 4, 2007

Woke up to 31 degrees, water is frozen in the hose!!! Guess we need to disconnect water in the cold areas!! Beautiful and sunny!! Heading to Spokane today.

We crossed the continental divide yesterday and it strange to see rivers flowing north!!!! It is running very swiftly because of the snow melt and it is so clean and pure looking.

There is a lot of lumbering going on in the mountains. Doug and I were just wondering how they built roads way up there, when we saw a helicopter fly over carrying logs and dropping them at a base camp.

We are seeing such beautiful mountains. I just told Doug I can understand why Jim and Rhonda love coming out here so much. You sure do feel closer to God. The population in the whole state of Montana is less than Pinellas County!!

Just crossed into another time zone we are now in Pacific time, three hours earlier than home. We are passing through light snow showers and we can see that it is snowing at the higher elevations. We are approaching the city of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. Doug rolls his eyes as I like saying the name, it is such a neat French name!!

We went in and out of rain and snow today. Finally stopped at Kettle Falls, WA. We will be in BC tomorrow.

As you can tell from the picture, the girls have come out of the closet!!!

Can't tell you how much we are enjoying your blog and the pictures of your adventure. Sorry we haven't commented before this. Mary and I plan to travel out in the West some time in the future, so we're learning a lot.
