May 20th - The day in Ketchikan was cold and overcast. We learned that we were lucky as it rains about 300 days a year and we just had overcast skies!!! This seems to be the largest town we have been in. There is not much here unless you want to hike the mountain, which I wanted to but Doug said my track record wasn’t good in the hiking department!!! If you don’t get that, look back at our Colorado pics to see what I did to myself!!! There are some really neat totem poles too. There is mostly shopping here and we did go to Creek Street, which was rather interesting. The shops are all built right over the creek. Evidently this used to be the red light district, close to the docks where the ships come in!!! There are some interesting shops with handmade items, but for the most part they have the same things as the shops in the other towns we stopped at.
