Our Animal Friends

This elk became our friend as we saw him almost daily as we drove back to the park. The burrows Doug is feeding are in Cripple Creek. They are usually roaming the town. We had never seen them and told one of the museum people that we had even popped a bag of popcorn for them but couldn't find them. He said that this time of year they corral them and put them on diets as they get so fat from everyone giving them food. Since we were so disappointed he told us where they were and that it was OK if we fed them. We gave them the bag of popcorn, then a small bag of carrots and then Doug's animal crackers!!!! We then told them they could go back on their diets!! What suckers we are for animals!!!
