Today we went on a paddlewheel boat ride up the Chena River. It stopped at an Indian village and we met a talked with a lot of native Athebastians. They are the Indians that are indigenous to this area. We saw how they smoked fish, built their houses and raised sled dogs.

One of the natives does beautiful beadwork and has some of here items in the Smithsoian. She showed several of her pieces, they are just beautiful.

One of the things we like so much up here are the beautiful flowers they have all over the place. There are lots of wildflowers along the road and everyone has beautifully colorful hanging pots around their houses, even at the Indian village.
