Finally got to so some rock hunting!!!

I can't believe I have been here for over a month and just now found time to do some rock hunting. We are not allowed to take anything out of the park, so I have to go out to do it. There is a little (and I mean LITTLE) town about 20 miles from here that we were told have 'Fairburn' agates. We took a trip out there, it is just a dirt cross roads! we stopped at the little post office and asked for directions. She had a map drawn as lots of people go there. It is about 12 miles outside of town (of course a dirt road)! When we got there we were amazed at how much it looked like the badlands, just much smaller. As usual I had a wonderful time. Don't think I got any great agates, but spent 4 hours digging!!! It was a great day and I look forward to another day like it tomorrow.

We are both enjoying our jobs. I just love this park. There is always something new to see. We also are hoping that our grandchildren will be coming out next month for a few days. I know they will just love it here.
