June 15th - The sun has been out for the last three days and we have had to work!!! I came home tonight and sat outside for awhile and just enjoyed the sound of the birds. I watched the clouds building up. I know they do that in FL, but I have never seen them build so quickly. It was almost like watching the whipped cream out of an aerosol can, they build so quickly.. Fortunately they moved out of the area very quickly also!! The other night we had a clap of thunder that actually shook the RV.
With the nice weather we are going to try and see some of the attractions. Tomorrow we will do some of the local things, as we have some bookkeeping work to do related to our jobs. The next day we will head to the Bandlands. They are about 90 miles from here.
I still like my job, but unfortunately Doug still does not like his. I am not sure how long we will be staying. I am hoping the nice weather will perk Doug up!!
Yesterday there were several sheep along the road outside the office and with then was a little baby. I was so excited and was able to get several pics! The staff said they were very happy and surprised as they did not think there where any babies this year. They were also dubious as to the survival, as the mountain lions take quite a few every year.
We have been keeping track of a large mail bison the last few days. A camper came in and said they saw in walking along the road with blood coming from it’s side. It looked like it was not going to make it, but today it was walking with the rest of the herd, so the staff is hopeful.
If I had my life to do over, I think I would become a naturalist. I am so in love with the wildlife and we sure don’t see much of it in FL!!!
