Phanytom and Red Canyons, CO

The last two days we went on fantastic rides. Yesterday we drove through Phantom Canyon and thought that was the most difficult ride in the area. Today we went to Red Canyon in Canon City - THAT IS the most difficult drive. We had to turn around as Doug felt this was too much for us and there were very dark clouds. you could see where this road had washed out in the past. However, the road had the most wonderful rocks!!! Doug was nice enough to keep stopping when I saw one 'I just couldn't live without". We also went to Royal Gorge Bridge. It was a tourist trap!!! The bridge looked great, but we had to buy a ticket for all the other garbage, so we didn't go over it. We did stop at a rock shop. I hate to buy rocks, but I know I will not be able to do much rock hunting here, so we gave in and got some beauties!!! The ankle is coming along and Doug is giving me excellent care. We have a friend that calls him Saint Douglas for putting up with me - this week in deserves the title!!!

Pretty rock formations, but again they all are so beautiful.
Hope that the foot is better.
Love to you both,
