The last of Cripple Creek

Well, we just moved on from Cripple Creek and are now at a park between Salida and Monarch, CO. We spent the other day taking a ride on an old steam engine narrow gauge RR and driving around the area for the last time. We would be highly likely to come back to this park and this area again. The scenery and the rocks are wonderful!!! Yesterday we went through a gold mine. We were 1,000 feet below the surface. We have been to other gold mines, but this was the best tour we had ever had. Friday was rainy and cold so we didn't do much. The next day we went out and were shocked to see the mountains in the distance covered with snow!!!

From our new location we will go to Gunnison and the Black Canyon. It will make for a couple of long days, but Doug did not want to take the RV over the mountain. He said it would make it but he didn't see any reason to push it. Will post some of the last pictures from Cripple Creek.
