Black Canyon of the Gunnison

Yesterday we took a VERY long ride to the Black Canyon. It was just beautiful. There are two roads, the north rim and the south rim. We did not realize that it was two roads and they are about 90 miles apart! Fortunately they say that the south rim is the best view and that was were we were. Decided to forgo the north rim. Again, we took over 100 pictures!!! On the way home we drove through snow at the Monarch Pass - there wasn't much, but it was snow!! Doug says it is almost time to start south!! We will probably start in that direction Monday. I am still wearing the boot and the ankle is improved, but it is sure keeping me from doing what I want. I walked out of most of the overlooks yesterday, and when I got home I was in quite a bit of pain and it was quite swollen. We are going to take it slow today.
