Mt Evans

Yesterday we went to Mt. Evans. For those of you that don't know, it is the highest mountain you can drive to in the world. It was a magnifiscent sight. The road was a bit traumatic, with no guard rails and Doug and Chip had a good time laughing at me as I made my sounds!! I was also surprised again at what the latitude did to us physically. It is really difficult to breath and there where so many trails that I wanted to hike, but it is really difficult at over 14,000 feet, when we are used to being at sea level.

Fortunately we got to the summit early as the rains came in later in the afternoon. Today we left early for the same reason and it worked out really well. I can't tell you where we were, as I sit in the back seat and just enjoy as the guys do all the work!!! This will change next week. We fortunately came across a park in the mountains that had opening for the Labor Day weekend and we sighned up. I am really looking forward to a very relaxing weekend. We did the same last year.

Tomorrow we are leaving VERY early so we can see the sun rise at Red Rocks. Then we will drive to Pike Peak. It should be a good day.

Thanks for all of you that have emailed reguarding the blog. I am so glad you are enjoying it. I will keep it up as I can.
