September 11 & 12, 2007
We could not help but notice that on 09/11/01 we were out in the desert also!! This area looks so dead, but at the same time is so beautiful. It is extremely dry and you can see for miles as it is so flat. There are foothills in the distance, but Doug is reluctant to drive to them as it is so desolate. We are here for a few days so will relax and enjoy the environment.
Went to the Borax mine and really enjoyed the education. It is amazing how many items we use everyday has boron in it. I was also able to collect some really neat samples for my rock collection.
Will leave for Las Vegas on Thurs., that should be an experience!!!!
