September 20 & 21, 2007
We left LV early with mixed feelings, I think there will always be more you want to see, and at the same time so much that is truly not worth seeing!!! This city was a real education for us!! For those of you wondering, after a week of playing the 23 cent slots we left about $72 ahead!!!!!
Heading to Flagstaff, AZ, on the way saw a sign for AZ tourist information in the town of Williams. So we stopped. We were so glad we did.
The Grand Canyon RR is here and runs a train to and from the canyon daily. We found a nice RV park near the depot and decided to stay.
Today we took the train and also, since we were short on time, we signed up for bus tour. This was a really good decision. We were not even sure we were going to get to the canyon on this trip. We did it several years ago so it was not on our agenda.
This was a really good move. The Grand Canyon is just as beautiful today as it was last time we were here. Also, taking the train and bus was so relaxing. We were also entertained with a ‘gun fight’ before we left and a ‘train robbery’ on the way home!!!
I would recommend to anyone coming out to look into the RR. It was a lot of fun and also saves more cars from going to the park. The access of cars is going to continue to be restricted more in the future.
Weather was great. We were in the 100’s last week and today we got up in the morning to 56 degrees!! The changes in altitude make so much difference.
Looks like the RV problems have been solved, it ran great all the way.
