More on California

August 22, 2007

Got an early start and drove about 130 miles to Garberville. Went through more beautiful scenery and the weather is lovely. Will only spend the night here and move on. Don’t know what kind of sites we have ahead, will play it by ear.

Doug is not feeling well again, so we stayed an extra day. Took a leisurely ride to the coast. You would think with all the driving we do we could just sit for an afternoon!! It was a very nice ride and the weather was great. Temperature difference from the coast to the campsite was 30 degrees, much cooler on the coast!

We found a campground just outside San Francisco we will spend five nights there. It is the most expensive we have had so far, $48 a night!! Guess that is to be expected for the area. We were lucky to find a campsite at Yosemite over Labor Day weekend. I was shocked, sure that it would be full. We will spend five nights there, it is also one of the Passport America parks, so we even get it half-price!!! I feel much better know the next two weekends are covered.
