Another wonderful day, cool and sunny. However, it is hazy, I am not sure why as we are out in the middle of now where and there is very little humidity. Took the other direction on the rim and stopped at the restored lodge, what a great place to stay!! Unfortunately the boats have been cancelled for today because of winds. It is much cooler and windier than yesterday.
Instead of the hike to the boat, we hiked up to the fire watch tower. It is a long gradual hike, and we were both out of breath by the time we got there. Doug kept telling me I was trying to kill him!! I told him I was trying to save him by making him get some exercise!!!! When we got down we asked the ranger just how long the hike was – 2 ½ miles round trip and up to an altitude of 8,000 feet. Wheat a great hike!!!
Will be leaving tomorrow in the direction of CA. We are going to try and see my brother in Mt. Shasta.
