We thought we got a good look at the mountain in Danali Park, but it was nothing compared with what we saw from the south side on our way back to Anchorage. The sky was crystal clear and the view was amazing. There was a man there that said this was his third year here and the first time he got a look at the mountain!!
When we got settled in our campsite we decided to go for a ride. Chip noticed a moose in the water so we turned around to watch. It ate for a while and then crossed the river in our direction. The middle of the river was very deep and it was swept down stream until it made ground contact right in front of our car. The poor things eyes got huge, we were not sure if it was because we were there or because it was being swept down stream. It climbed out of the water right next to us and took off. Doug got it on the VCR. This after the site of the mountain made for a GREAT day!!!!!
It was a long drive from Healy, but worth it with the views we got!
The next day we drove to Seward and did the hike to Exit glacier. We were there about six years ago and were amazed at how much had melted in that time. It was a good hike though.
Today we took Chip to the airport. It always make me sad, but we were so glad he was able to come. I think he really had a good time.
