Wonderful weather cool and sunny. Having a very lazy day just watching the traffic on the Mississippi go by. Went out to Wal-Mart early this morning and got some different food for the girls but they still don’t seem to be interested in it. They want to be in the closet but I won’t let them in until tonight, so they are both sleeping under the covers on the beds. I can’t seem to entice them out.
Heading through Arkansas toward Oklahoma tomorrow. The only thing on our addenda is stopping at Southard, OK. That is a town named for my ancestors. My mother’s maiden name was Southard. We are open for whatever comes along.
Doug is busy cleaning the car, it sure doses get dirty being towed!!!

Left Tom Sawyer RV Park at 8:15am headed west across Arkansas. Weather is clear and sunny, with temps around 70 degrees. Traveling on route 63 and 412 which will take us right into OK. Think we will stop at Oklahoma City as there is a Camping World. While there will see the Federal Building bombing site.
Still getting used to the idea that we don’t have a schedule. Doug asked me this morning if I was deliberately taking my time to make him get a late start!!!
It was a rather rough drive later today. Went through the Ozark mountains, narrow twisty roads and Doug wanted to drive rather fast to “keep” the momentum going!!! I told him he had better get used to crawling up the mountains like most of the other old folks do or my poor heart would not hold out!!! I think we are in for some interesting rides!! All in all we are doing quite well, of course it is only a few days into the trip!!

Well, spent our first night in a Wal-Mart parking lot! We got to Fayetteville, AR and there were two campgrounds in our books. We tried the one because it advertised Wi-Fi service. After great difficulty we found it and it was such a dump we left and tried to find the other one. Discovered that one was 35 miles south of Fayetteville. By this time it was 5pm and I needed to do some shopping so we decided to stay in the parking lot.
I had forgotten the transfer wire for my camera so I could not upload my pictures. Picked up a card reader. We did some other shopping as there were all kinds of stores here then went to bed early. Not bad except at 2am a parking lot cleaner did it’s thing for about an hour!!!
The girls came out of the closet last night, but are still not eating much. We have tried all kinds of food to entice them, even tried kitten milk, still no luck. I guess they will eat when they are hungry, but the veet told me that they could have kidney failure within a couple of days of not eating, so gives me a lot of concern.
When we got up this morning the parking lot was full of people, there was a walk-a-thon starting, so we got out quickly. There were thousands of people there! Got going at 7:45am. Still trying to get Doug to slow down and realize we are retired. He still feels he needs to dead head to Alaska. Told him I think we should spend 4 or 5 days in SD. There is a lot to see and I think we already need some down time.
Weather is clear and cool again - we couldn’t pray for better weather. Sleeping is great
Got to Oklahoma City at about 1:30. We will be here for at least three nights. The more I read about the area the more things I want to see. Might have to spend more time!!
Finally got the girls out of the closet!! They are still nervous, but I think the next three days will help them calm down. One of the pictures shows where Diamond has decided she wants to nap instead of the closet!!
We drove through some very nice country today. It was easier driving as we did mostky interstates. Coming through we couldn’t help but imagine covered wagons driving through . There are a couple if museums I am looking forward to seeing. Tomorrow we plan on attending a worship service here in the park and then driving up to Southard.

sounds like your having great weather. The cats not eating could be a problem, but i'm sure they will realize they are hungry. Probably just nervous.
